Family Events for January 2013

Kickstart 2013 at People’s Park, Dun Laoghaire

Sunday 20th Jan, 12pm to 3pm

This free family day out with loads of activities will put some much needed colour back in everyone’s cheeks. There will be a whole host of activities to help everyone get fit and healthy for the New Year.

kickstart 2013 EventThe DLR Sports Department will be on hand with some sporty fun and DLR Leisure Services will be in the park and ready to offer their fitness assessment as well as information on the DLR leisure centres in the county.

There will be bouncy castles and inflatable games with an active theme, the old favourites will also be there – face painters and the DLR Events DJ will be spinning the tracks to get you moving.

The Peoples Park in Dun Laoghaire is a beautiful place to be on a crisp winters Sunday, along with the award winning CoCo Market there are the tea rooms where you can get one of the best coffees or hot chocolates in South Dublin, the fountains a children’s playground. Easily accessible by DART (Dun Laoghaire or Glasthule)

The Peoples Park is only a short walk from the shops, restaurants and piers of Dun Laoghaire. The ever-popular CoCo Markets will also be in the park on January 20th.

‘Everyone loves snow in winter!’, with Andrew Brown.(Jan 12th)

Noah’s Ark in the Flood, with Kate Dick. (Jan, 19th)

Ice Skating and Roller Skating with John O’Connell. (Jan, 26th)

The programme is free, lasts one hour and takes place in Room 17 on Level 1.  Suitable for children between ages 4 and 10, and involves activities for adults and children working together under the guidance of a qualified tutor. Children should be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times
